Regional Highlights
Excursions
From mountain huts and whisky distilleries to open-air museums, many of the region’s attractions and sights are within easy reach of the Alpenrose for a day trip – whether on a long walk or a bike tour, by train or by car. But we are also the ideal starting point for a city trip: the Bayerische Regiobahn takes you directly from the train station next to the Alpenrose to Munich in less than 90 minutes. And Kufstein and Innsbruck are also only 30 and 90 minutes away by car, respectively.
Alpenrose Tips: Popular Excursions
Albert-Link-Hütte
The Albert-Link-Hütte is easily accessible from the Spitzingsee, even with small children, and is characterized by culinary specialties: wood-fired bread, game specialties from the region, smoked delicacies, a fabulous cake and a unique Kaiserschmarrn! And it is an ideal starting point for further hiking tours.
Slyrs – Bavarian Single Malt Whisky
A visit to the Slyrs distillery is worthwhile in any weather and at any time of year. There you can visit the Bavarian whisky production – and of course taste the young whisky yourself.
Wasmeier Museum
In the Markus Wasmeier Open Air Museum Schliersee you will experience an authentic, old Bavarian village on 60,000 square meters. Here you will be initiated into the old craftsmanship. In the inn “Beim Wofen” there are Bavarian delicacies and you can taste the original brewed beer in the Schopf brewery.
