Alpenrose Tips: Popular Hikes
Hike to the Wendelstein (1,838 m)
Bayrischzell’s striking local mountain, the Wendelstein, is visible from Munich. You can reach the summit by cog railway in about 30 minutes, by cable car in about 7 minutes, or on one of the many hiking trails in about three hours. Most of the hiking trails are on the southern slope of the mountain and are snow-free from April to the end of November.
Shortly before the summit (at 1,724 meters) lies the famous Wendelsteinhaus, where you can fortify yourself for the last few meters of ascent. On the summit, an overwhelming panoramic view over the Alpine chain with views of Watzmann, Großglockner or Zugspitze awaits.
Hike on the Bayrischzell Höhenweg (High Trail)
On the Bayrischzell Höhenweg, you can enjoy breathtaking views. The panoramic trail above the Ursprungstal valley leads over lush meadows on the northern slope of the Sillberg to the Sillberghaus, Germany’s first alpine bath with rustic charm.
Hike to the Brünnstein
An unforgettable tour is the hike to the Brünnstein, especially in combination with a small climbing tour and an overnight stay in the Brünnsteinhaus.
The Bayrischzell hiking bus is also available for our guests and will take you to the starting point of the excursion.
